The Apple iPhone
The Apple iPhone is easily the world’s most iconic mobile phone and with good reason.
The iPhone and its later avatar the iPhone 3G have blazed a trail in design and functionality that peers and competitors are still trying to follow.
This Internet-connected multimedia smartphone is feature-packed. The iPhone features Wi-Fi connectivity, a camera, a media player, an Internet client, and more. But the features are only a part of the appeal and mystique that the iPhone has managed to create for itself ever since it was released in January, 2007.
Perhaps one of the biggest reasons why the iPhone stole a march over nearest competitor Blackberry is because it has a touch screen capable of presenting up to 262,144 colors and a virtual keyboard replaces a physical one. Apple has a reputation for great designs and taking care of the details; it is these small things such as mobile fonts that are easier on the eye and bigger screen that have endeared the iPhone to all.
If any clinching evidence is required to prove that the iPhone is cellphone equivalent of a Sinatra platinum hit then it is the industry that has grown around the iPhone and iPod offering third-party applications as well as gadgets built to make life easier for iPhone owner.
